The funeral for Austin VP9AT began last evening at his church ‘Evening Light Pentecostal Church Inc.’ were all tributes were read. At his state funeral which was televised from the ‘First Church of God’, attended by an estimated seven to eight hundred people from all walks of life, my sister "Pamela" who has close working ties with Austin’s daughter ‘Renee’, was slotted in to read the OMIK Silent Key Resolution for Austin, which I delivered to her office this morning. After the reading applause went up as the framed document was handed to Austin’s wife.

Stanley A.M. Gordon, W2CVL, 90, of Hot Springs, went to live with his Lord and Savior on May 9, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center.

Stanley was born June 29, 1920, to Mr. and Mrs. Ivory (Cora) Gordon. He was a graduate of Langston High School and a U.S. Army Veteran, and of the Methodist faith. Predeceased by his parents and siblings.

Survivors include his brother, Joseph (Helen) Gordon of Galveston, Texas, and his extended family.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 13 in Hot Springs.

Charles L Flowers, WA4OWI, 87, became a Silent Key on April 10, 2011

Charles was a retired manager-vehicle operation for U.S. Postal Service. He died on April 10 at his residence.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 16 at Martin Memorial Temple CME Church. He leaves one daughter, Angela Moore and one son, Robert Flowers.

Bill Brandenburg , W0QNI, passed away at home on Dec. 6, 2010

His son Paul was at his side along with the hospice team from Kaiser Hospital. Plans for his final rites are pending.

Bill was a member of OMIK Amateur Radio Association and the net manager for WARFA, a QCWA member among many other ham groups. He was proud to pronounce to the world that he was the Heathkit Junkie and indeed - he had two garages full of assorted Heathkit gear and manuals.

Bill served as WARFA net manager for a longer period than anyone in the 30-plus years of the organization. Billy Yates, N6YW has assumed the net manager's role for WARFA.
